  15. Subject: MIDAS Windows MOD player
  16.
  17.     I recently got the MIDAS Windows MOD player.  It looks like a pretty cool
  18. program.  It plays MODS and S3M's in windows.  Has anyone got this program to
  19. work with the GUS.  It says it has GUS support, but I am unable to get it to
  20. work.
  21.     Thanks

  28. From: "Brian K. Dowtin" <dowtin@ncat.edu>
  29. Subject: Newbie-ish Patch Cache Question
  30.
  31. Q: What would prevent someone from writing a Driver or inbetween program
  32. (like MidiMapper) that would make the Gus load the patch on the Patch
  33. select command.
  34.     It seems the current setting - assumes that the patches are
  35. preloaded.
  36.     Why not just have some sort of PatchCache Daemon running that traps
  37. the "change patch" message and sends the appropriate command to the GUS.
  38. This would make all sequencers work and seems to be a more universal solution.
  39.
  40. I'm sure this has been brought up/discussed/argued/proven/disproven - but it
  41. doesn't seem to have been written. :) (i'd just like to know what the
  42. current arguments/issues are )
  43.
  44. Thanks -
  45. `Brian
